Director of Strategic Partnerships/Indigenous Relations


Justin was born and raised in the Fort McMurray and the Chipewyan Prairie (Janvier) region. He is  fluent in Dene/Chipewyan and was raised on his family’s trapline in northeastern Alberta. Justin is a proud member of the Metis Nation of Alberta.


Justin has owned and managed multiple businesses, with a strong focus in Indigenous business, consultation and negotiation. He has been integral in forming many successful and sustainable partnerships between large companies and Indigenous communities. The partnerships that Justin has formed have helped the communities build a foundation for economic growth, all parties are always confident that if Justin is involved the agreement between community and the company with always be mutually beneficial.  Being able to make a positive difference within the Indigenous communities across the country is one of Justin’s biggest passions, his dream is to the break the cycle of unrecognized potential and success. Justin’s passion has gained him a reputation as a keen and fair negotiator who never compromises his integrity and is a person whom you can trust, this reputation has built him a strong network and solid relationships with key leaders.


One of Justin’s biggest accomplishments in business was being able to serve as the President of NAABA (the northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association) where he was able to lead one of Canada’s largest and most successful Indigenous business associations. Justin also currently serves on the board of directors for the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce.


Justin is proud to call Fort McMurray his home and is grateful for the endless opportunities that the Wood Buffalo Region has offered him.
